My cup is 4 by 3 inches. It is thrown with red clay and smooth all over. it is glazed with white glaze that ran down. The white glaze gives the project movement because of it running. the movement also shows constrast of white on dark red.
My cup is 4 by 3 inches. I pulled the walls straight up. It is thrown with red and white clay. It is glazed with white because there was no clear left. The clay combination gives the cup movement. It's white glaze allows the clays color to show movement through the white glaze. My cup is 4 by 3 inches. It has a name stamped on the side of the cup. It is glazed with black with clear around the outside part of the letters. The dark glaze within the letters help to make them stand out against the clear coat around the outside of them. The simple glaze helps to accentuate the letters stamped in. For my multi wheel project I made a standing bowl. It is 8 by 7 inches. The base of the bowl is shaped like an hourglass. There are several thick lines carved into it. It is glazed with dark blue. To attach the two pieces I used a rib tool to smooth out the area where it was slipped and scored. The lines carved in add dimension to the project, while also hiding the place they were attached to make it look like one piece. The lines help to direct the eye away from where it was attached so one can focus on the full project. |
